Translating Denial Rhetorical Questions in the Holy Quran: Reiss’ Text Typology Perspective

This paper aims to analyze the informative, operative, and expressive functions of Quranic denial rhetorical question following Reiss’ (1981) text typology. It also at investigating extent which three English translations meanings Quran can reflect these functions. The sample consists ten questions randomly selected from five suras according a list admissibility conditions. each were examined lexically, grammatically, stylistically determine they conform expressed in source text. analysis revealed that vary their fidelity rendering primarily because inappropriate grammatical lexical choices may be ascribed linguistic differences between language.
